Power Bar Class 5/16/12

Karla Rodriguez - Wednesday, May 16, 2012

This class was exceptionally great and not compromised by my ipod not working at all!  We sweat like nobody's business!  It was delicious and challenging all rolled up into a yummy cupcake.  That is a virtual one that released calories instead of consumed them.  The body bar is something that offers people an opportunity to learn about resistance, their body weight and incorporate cardio all into one.  It is one of the best workouts when used in a tabata format. Come join us next week!

P.S. Power to my new faces today, you did awesome!

Namaste, Karla

Post from Sudor Taino Family member Joanne G. - Congrats to you on your Accomplishment!

Karla Rodriguez - Thursday, May 10, 2012
Hi Karla!!  I just wanted to send you a quick thank you note.   I haven't seen you in a while mostly because of my crazy work schedule;  but I think of you girls often.   Joe and I  completed the tough mudder this weekend as you already know,  but the reason I was able to push through and finish was because of the things you taught me.  You showed me how to dig down deep and "fight for it".  I heard those words in my head a lot on Sunday and I helped get me through.  You are an inspiring person and you've really showed me how to push myself and that I'm worth it :).  I can't thank you enough for teaching me how to go beyond what I thought I could... My goal for the weekend was to finish this race and we did it :). I did have your voice in my head and for that I thank you!!!

Share Your Beauty Secrets or Not?

Karla Rodriguez - Sunday, April 29, 2012
Why won't people share these things?  We all run around and barely have time to do anything but we manage to get it done.  Why not share what works for your good hair, quick nails, dry feet, achy muscles, make up tricks, clothing lines for your shape, good exfoliator for radiant skin, etc.?  Because females like to keep this to themselves.  Men share everything even the stuff they are not supposed to.  I wish that we all would just smarten up and worry about making each other look good instead of making it some big competition.  If you are in and out of the gym, work, kids , home chores, projects, etc, you have no time to be Dora the explorer.  The truth is we want the answers, the truth and we are willing to try it based on the credibility of busy women.  So, share a secret or two and enhance a woman's life for real and feel good about it!

Synergy IV- Team Buildign with Hartford Detention

Karla Rodriguez - Friday, March 30, 2012
So many things change over time...from A to Z you can see things change gradually and one thing that has changed for the better is the group dynamic of my Hartford Detention Center adult group.  The very facilitators that have direct contact with the young men and women that are incarcerated due to their bad decisions - have taken their stress, the passion for what they do and their inner authenticity to build a relationship within themselves and with each other that works for them.  making them aware of all of this is my job but only if they allow me.  And, gradually they have allowed me to bring them innovative ways to think, interact and play together while learning key concepts that are fundamental to not only their work life but their entire lives.  We used group contact kickboxing, lecture and meditation to cause this fusion and everyone was engaged the entire time.  What a great thing for me to see and what a great accomplishment for each of them individually and as a team.  You all are so great and thank you for allowing me to show you how great you are!  Until next time...Namaste, K

What can we do to become better people?  Better yet what can we do to hold others accountable to want to be or just be better people?  Why not show people how live by leading by example?  How do you show up in life and is that in alignment with your purpose in life and how you truly want to live?  Everyday stresses don't own you, you have to own them.  Lets be the change we want to see!

UNLEASHED: Connecting with Inner Beauty

Karla Rodriguez - Tuesday, March 06, 2012

So there was real talk, tears, life tools, realistic vs. unrealistic, inner versus outer beauty, individual versus a group-all of it was a process of being unleashed was symbolized by the purple ribbon that we received at the beginning of the workshop.  The same ribbon that each participant made a choice to cut off as a symbol of unleashing their self limiting beliefs and labels.  It was extremely powerful and all I can say is that each of the students and staff members of HJCA are extremely special to me because of the synergy that we created together and the energy they each in their own way shared with me. I am extremely blessed to have had this opportunity to share my life and gift thanks to the powerful women of HJCA trusting my innovative approach to connecting with inner beauty.  Everyone who was meant to be there was and it is my hope that I have planted the seed  with a new label "beautiful" in their minds, hearts and souls.  I am moved beyond words and hope to be a part of their lives from here on out!

Namaste to all of beautiful ladies of HJCA. Karla
