Magic Of Christmas

Karla Rodriguez - Sunday, December 25, 2011

Thank you to all of my Sudor Taino family who donated money, merchandise, time, effort, advice, resources, etc. In life, one must give as a form of feeding one's soul.  The Hartford Police Activities League worked extremely hard over several month to revamp, rejuvenate, decorate and ultimately bless the Vellon family.  Feed your soul with the pure goodness that doesn''t take away from you-it adds to you.  Next year, together we will bless another family next year and would love your help. November Series Ends

Karla Rodriguez - Thursday, December 01, 2011

As November classes come to a close, we answer a lot of questions like:  What can those little weights do?  What can those little balls do?  What can those tiny bands do?  Well everyone found out and it was a lot harder than everyone including me, thought.  When I think of the class name, I say I will do that.  But because I do not plan the classes or do "dry-runs" it is always a surprise just how hard anything can be if it is new to the body, a surprise to the mind and a challenge to both.  Keeping it fresh is important and next both takes a who different turn with creating a mix of everything in a flash.  Let's get geared up to rock through the holidays!  P.S. Great seeing all of you returning to class! Namaste, K

Serving the Homeless in Hartford

Karla Rodriguez - Sunday, November 20, 2011

Today was such a beautiful day which was made to be even more special with serving others.  As part of an event sponsored by the Hartford Police Guardians at the Red Rock Cafe in Hartford, members of the Hartford Police Hispanic Officers Association (myself and fiancee included) served over 250 homeless people Thanksgiving Dinner.  We waited on them hand and foot and made them feel extremely special.  Some of them could not thank us enough and enjoyed our service.  Let this story promote a spirit of giving in you this Holiday Season!

Tribal Class @ Big Sky - Wow, what a different class!

Karla Rodriguez - Friday, November 18, 2011

So Big Sky members know me from my hard hitting class so I am not quite sure they new just what to think of my free style tribal class.  It was something that opened the door for them to be free and lubricate their bodies in a different way.  Oh it was different alright.  Some were very skeptical and others were just happy I was teaching an extra class.   It was a class about life because we talk like we walk, we walk like dance, we dance like we live,,,so yes every movement was purposeful and full of connection, thought and real passion.  Not what they thought would happen on a Friday night.  It is my hope that what they experiences will have a profound effect on the days to come.  Namaste, Karla

Light & Heavy or Not? - 11/16/11

Karla Rodriguez - Thursday, November 17, 2011
So people showed up for light and heavy and they got a demo of a new concept that I learned at the ECA Conference.  I will share this it was intense, sweaty, real and a new concept for all of us in just 30 minutes.  We did warm up and play with the light weights for awhile but I threw the new concept at them and they took the challenge.  As always, I love bringing it to them and getting back their participation and enthusiasm.  January will be a hit, I can just taste it!

ECA Conference - Florida 2011

Karla Rodriguez - Monday, November 14, 2011

This trip to visit the most elite instructors in the industry clarified so many things for who what legacy I want to leave with the people I serve everyday.  From Billy Blanks to Louis Van Amstel from Dancing with the Stars to mind and body specialist like Lawrence Biscotini.  Such an honor for all of us yummy girls to be in the their classes but more of treat to be able to look inside yourself and find out something new about yourself.

Each one of us took away something different and whether the experience was cheesy, intense or delicious it served its purpose.  So many things can happen to your mind. body and soul if you let them happen.  We are blessed to have experienced it all with the support of our wonderful families at home that recognize the importance of feeding the yummy!

Until next year yummy girls, I love you all dearly.  And, who knows if we will be rocking the ECA stage!

Namaste, K

Leadership Through Movement - UCONN 11/9

Karla Rodriguez - Wednesday, November 09, 2011
This session was awesome with some familiar face and some new ones.  Watching the uncomfortable bodies and skeptic faces as I explained the concept of the workshop made me curious, how exactly can I reach them?  And, with the help of Ira, the music, the energy, the drawing of lines to leadership traits...and most of all the heart to heart...the talk with these young men and women.. on the real...  They accepted it all, they took it all in and by the workshop end, the lay still yet full of life.  As I believe I awakened so many different ideologies inside of them.  My job is not done in the word but today, I have planted the seed of great leaders and it is my hope that they blossom endlessly.  To Lynn thank you for believing in my ability to nurture your students.  And to all the participants, thank you for allowing me to touch your soul, even if it was just for a couple seconds!  It was delicious and I admire you dearly for trusting me with your energy and gifts!  Namaste, Karla
